I am so sorry for the loss - it is always so sad to lose one of our "children". Over the years we have had to put 6 dogs and 2 cats out of their suffering and each one was a tremendousliy sad occasion. I am so glad you got a new "kid" just before you lost Barney - a new one can never take the place of someone you love - but can make the loss easier to bear. Take care of yourself.
