Seroquel has a paradoxical effect, as my doctor described. At lower dosages, it largely affects the histamine receptors in the brain and does therefore cause drowsiness.

Like Seroquel, a number of psychiatric drugs have this effect at lower dosages, whereas at higher dosages, other receptors are affected.
