There has been a lot of discussion lately about CBT.

I find it interesting and informative to hear about the experiences of others.

I think, however, there is some confusion about Albert Ellis and Stoicism.

I think perhaps the present CBT practices have evolved away from the early REBT created by Ellis. I have only come to realize this after hearing about other people's experiences.

There are a few people here on the forum who have done a lot of CBT work and found it beneficial. I would say the proof is in the pudding as those people strike me as very balanced and grounded. It seems that they have really progressed in recovery.

The same could be said of those who have worked hard at DBT.

When I hear of their experiences I am inspired to work a little harder.

Although CBT roots may be in Stoicism...I think CBT has advanced and is very modern and timely.

Thank you to all who practice CBT and DBT for sharing.
