Welcome to the club. I've had issues making friends in real life as well because I'm an Uber introvert and a socially awkward geek who is more into video games and anime than people haha

The best advice I can give you is if you are into a hobby such as books, video games, or something else, to find local gatherings or events for people interested in your specific hobby and go from there.

Otherwise maybe try to meet friends online? I know it isn't the most ideal way to make friends but from experience, it's easier to make friends on social media or online gaming for people who are introverted than meeting people the "traditional" way, not to mention, most of what few true friends I've made in my life I met most of them online either via one of my online games or by Facebook back when I used it.
