My story:
Barrier is medicare not many providers to begin with and not that many trained in trauma. I live Cleveland Ohio nothing for trauma specific services IOP/IP and support groups. Makes recovery very difficult!!

The mental health system is broke on many levels. Just as the health care system. With treating trauma I've found that many say they treat trauma but most do not, they may be able to do some good for PTSD but for multiple traumas they do more harm than good. I've found the forums and online community has helped as far as a group therapy to discuss different issues. There's online counseling but that is self pay. I had one counselor who was not claiming to be a trauma specialist but she was very good. So getting that right therapist is paramount. Keep trying.
