If he spent years getting a degree then he certainly isn't CNA, it's not a degree program. And it doesnt take years.

it's very likely he is RN and has nursing degree (likely BSN). My husband is RN. He recommends to become CNA first for people who don't know if they want to work in medical field. Becoming CNA would give you an exposure to medical field and you'll know if you want to pursue it.

To get training to become CNA will not cost much (if anything) at all. It's not a demanding program. Just keep in mind it pays barely above minimum wages.

I do recommend you try vocational rehab counseling. All these ins and outs could be explained to you. And you might get free training
