It depends on the protein source..? Protein from hemp or whey is a good source of protein. I use it all the time sometimes twice a day.

There are many sources of protein out there. Bars, shakes, etc..
Please becareful not to over use. It does tax the kidneys when used in large amounts.

Try to get protein from beans and lentils if u can. Woman be sure to take an iron supplement. Trust me animal protein is far worse for you then plant protein. If u have any doubts see a nutritionist. This is my own opinion, since I dont consume animal products.

Milk is another good source of protein, but many are Lactose intolerant, like myself. Besides cows milk was meant for calves not humans. We are a unique species in ourselves and really not meant to drink other species milk.

Soy, Almond and Rice Milk are great substitutes containing natural fats and omega 3's needed for Heart Health.

My diet habits that work for me may not work for others. Although i was 40lbs over weight and blood cholesterol at one time was 358. Its now under 200.

My energy has doubled and I have less mood swings. Just remember read the Labels on everything. Many of these protein bars have added stimulants like Caffeine and Taurine which can over stimulate the Heart!

Do away with processed sugars and replace with loads of fruit and veggies.
