When I'm stable (like now) I don't think or worry about it, I just use coping mechanisms to get through day to day life, which has its normal ups and downs.
If I feel like I might be going into one episode or another, I keep track of it, but don't start worrying (I want to make sure it's not just a part of a normal and transient range of mood, however intense), unless and until it's been persistent for a few days. That's when I call pdoc and try to get an earlier appointment. If it's a true emergency I'll ask for a call back asap. That's my pattern/strategy, anyway.
