Do you play any MMORPGs, by chance? Those types of games are an easy way to make friends, or even just acquaintances to play with.

I enjoy playing World of Warcraft and joined a very nice and chatty guild. I did raids with them over the weekend while using voice chat, and it was nice to socialize even if they are pretty much strangers still (I only joined the guild a few days ago).

I've also met someone from this forum in real life, and we are good friends now. He is coming down to visit me later this week, in fact!

You can always find people that share your interests. I, too, am into video games and a good place to find these people is in, well, video games! Or even FB groups for these video games. I wish you all the best in finding people who share your interests, there are a lot of gamers out there.
