I quit discussing anything sincere with about anyone nowadays, largely due to the rather partisan mindset that people are willing to exhibit in reality. This site has always been the exception to that bias, however. The people here are not judgmental nor do they shut down ideas upon preexisting bias alone. It seems like a great deal of individuals in real life are willing to condemn those who are adamant in a different lifestyle or philosophical take on the world. For that matter, I am grateful towards the people on these forums. They support one another unconditionally and are willing to listen to any perspective.
