Why not both?

While paper does do a good job at blocking a webcam, it does nothing about the microphone.

A purely hardware based kill switch that completely blocks all power leading to both the webcam and microphone is the best bet for privacy on a mobile PC combined with basic network and browser configurations that I probably don't need to explain to you.

Yes, getting a desktop can be a better bet but some of us who work or study on the go need an alternative and since I will need a laptop for school anyways I might as well put leftover grant/loan money into getting a libram since I already own a beefy custom built gaming desktop that I use for gaming and streaming and I don't see a point of building another one.

Just my 2c
Thanks for this!
