My oncologist insisted that I NOT eat or drink: spinach, peanuts, nor any black teas as these combine with the iron in the body and the body THROWS it all out!
I cannot take iron supplements as they are synthetic and my body reacts paradoxically to them (making me more anemic).
I have not had a problem with anemia since removing the "3" things from my diet.
But also, taking in Vitamin C, leafy greens help your body to absorb the iron-rich foods you eat.
(I had to also remove gluten as it prevented my body from absorbing ANY real nutrients from the food I was eating!)
