Hello all. First post here. And I joined up just because I found this thread which is the first EVER clue I've ever had that there were others who had this issue too. I've been reading and rereading this thread periodically for several years now!

My case began at the age of about 9 years old IIRC and besides the feeling that everyone including me was running just a little too fast for reality, sounds were just a little bit louder than normal too. There was also a tactile component in that objects felt just a bit heavier than normal and that I was gripping them harder which I knew I really wasn't. An empty cup or other item I would use all the time now felt slightly heavier.

If I really concentrated I could tell that mom or whoever weren't really talking faster, their speech and the pitch was unchanged, yet the speech and other sounds in the room were all sped up and a little louder. I think lights were a bit brighter also.

I could easily interact and converse with others who would never know what was happening on my end, though things could sometimes get pretty comical from my perspective.

After a few years of this happening every couple or few months I realized that each episode lasted the same amount of time. (too bad that wasn't sped up LOL) After I began timing the episodes which all lasted 30 minutes, almost exactly, within about 5 min. From then on when one of these things started instead of dreading it again I would just look at a clock and wait it out.

In the end the episodes ended when I was around 14 years old, coincidentally or not right around the same time I began first began smoking pot. I mention this because I have heard of several other health related conditions, like chronic headaches and the like, ending when folks began getting high. Not to mention the plethora of health malady's treated today by weed, hemp oil, etc.

I would love to finally and for sure learn what this was. I have always leaned toward a brain lesion, or perhaps epilepsy of some kind.

So that's my story, and besides my mother some 40 years ago and my ex wife, you are the first to hear it. If any of this matches up with your experiences, please post up and tell me a little about it. I'd love to hear more.

Thanks, Rob.
