I agree with you ; however I don't realistically see a solution. Most people who commit crimes do not obtain the guns legally...they either steal them or trade them on the black market. If it were possible to prevent anyone and everyone from going behind our backs we would have done it already.

The fact that drugs are usually involved sort of reinforces this. They ARE illegal, yet people still manage to get them and sell them.
