I am so angry right now that I want to scream. My husband finally recieved his social security back pay. He was supposed to get 10,000$ dollars. I was irate when we recieved the check and it was only 3,000. We called social security only to be informed that his ex wife had filed an injunction with the courts to get back spousel support. She got over half of his check. A while back we went to see a lawyer about getting the spousel support stopped since she has been remarried with two kids. Ususally in these cases you pay for seven years or until they remarry. My husband did not have a lawyer when they got devorced. He got stuck with 35,000$ dollars in credit card dept, loss of all his stuff exceprt the cloths on his back. She even got the stuff he had from his childhood. She got the house as well. On top of all this he has to was ordered to pay spousel support for seven years. The support was to cover the morgage payments. After my husband became physically disabled unable to work we sought out the lawyer. When he signed the decree his ex had in there that it would no longer be in the jurisdiction of the courts. Other wise it can never be stopped unless initiated by her. The lawer wrote a letter to her explaining Kevins problems in detail and asking her to stop. She wrote a letter back saying it is unfortunate that he is experiencing this, but life is tuff and everyone goes through difficult times. Just because this is a difficult time does not give you obligationg to stop paying me and disregarding your responsibilities. *****. The laywer told us don't pay becaue if she did take us to court the judge would throw it out due to being disabled and unable to pay. She new from that letter he applied for SSD. Both her and her husband have very high paying jobs. This is just pure &%$#ing greed. We are basically raising her kids and paying her bills. They also take out alomost three hundred dollars out of his monthly checks. My husband and I lost our house, had to move twice, sold most of our stuff to pay bills, finally gave up and filed bankruptcy. On top of this all we don't even have enough to get through a month. Our child has special needs. I hope she has a Merry &%$#ing Christmas at our expence. We were going to use that money to pay off late bills and start a small savings account for our daughters college fund. I am so sick of being screwed in this life.
