How about little things people don't think of? (Olives were a good thought). I love radishes. I buy the little bag in summer and painstakingly cut off the ends and get myself a little pile of clean radishes and some salt and go to town.

My husband doesn't do pickles or cucumbers and no matter how you fix rice and most pasta he doesn't care for it. We had Uncle Ben's "Santa Fe" rice last night and I asked him, "Was that okay or yucky?" and he replied, "Yucky but it didn't taste like rice; they disguised it well." LOL
