I love yoga. I was in a severe depression and very fragile when I started. I had no strength and had tremors. I found a chair yoga class for seniors and the health challenged. I'm only 58 but I figured I was definitely health challenged.

I now go twice a week and work up a sweat both times. One class is chair yoga but we are standing most of the class and using the chair for balance. The other class is "regular", although we do use the classroom barre for balance at times.

My yoga teacher took an interest in my depression and anxiety and found lots of articles for me. She taught me how to breathe to handle things. If I'm not there, she texts me.

I might not be the greatest at yoga, but it has added so much to my life. My depression has lifted and I do believe the yoga was a part of it. I feel stronger now, and more able to try new things. I am even considering going kayaking on a gentle river.

Just make sure you find a class compatible with your ability. Don't go to a class that is too difficult and get overwhelmed.
