I do this exact same thing! I love buying books but I rarely feel like I have the attention span to quietly sit and read them (except right before bed, with my headlamp on). Seeing them makes me happy though, their spines lined up are like an inspiring 'to do' list I usually end up reading a least parts of them at some point. If I actually lose interest, then I just re-sell it on amazon.
