In my hospital patients see a psychiatrist every day, including weekends. They also have a medical doctor meet with each patient soon after intake to be sure to have a good medical history and make sure other medical needs get treated while there. Each patient also had a social worker who coordinated care between all doctors, therapists, nurses, etc. and made sure each patient was set up with appropriate outpatient care before being discharged. Groups were led by the social workers, therapists, and nurses on staff. There was no individual therapy as this was an acute crisis management program, not long-term hospitalization; however, if you needed to talk to someone individually, most of the staff was very willing and quite able to listen supportively and helpfully.
