I've experienced both positive and negative results with prozac. My Aunt off prozac is .... aggressive, unstable, and paranoid, on the medication one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She had the misfortune of losing her medical insurance and was unable to afford the medication.

My son was placed on prozac to compliment his ADHD medication that was no longer effective. I have no idea why to this day, and I should have gone with my initial instinct which was to demand a new medication. But I suspected he suffered from a mild form of depression and if it would make the old faithful ADHD medication that he'd been taking for years more effective what could it hurt? My well- mannered, kind, conciderate, thoughtful, teenaged son turned it to a vicious, angry young man. I had no idea that it was the Prozac, I thought it was some sort of hormone imbalance and spoke with his doctor about it. It turned out to be the Prozac, once he was off the medication my son returned.

In both cases the differences were very drastic.
