Fast, somewhat careless driving is often attributed to teen/young adult males.
Some insurers automatically give high insurance rates to this category of customers. (It's thought to be due, at least in part, to high testosterone levels.)

My brother died in a car accident at 16, the driver was a young male horsing around with speed. The driver has never gotten over knowing his negligent driving took the life of his then "best friend."
