You're not playing doctor by asking for a specific med. your doctor should take what you have to say into consideration, and in the end they're the one making the decisions. If you do your homework (I'd suggest reading most of the full PI) and think it may help, then have the discussion.

It would be a different discussion if you walked in and requested 5mg/day of Klonopin. But you're discussing APs, an entirely different beast.
