My T said my "thermostat" didn't work right, that all things were "equal" in weight so small things and large things were alike. I think I couldn't tell the difference very well (like I couldn't really tell apart different feelings). Practice getting to know what's small and what's larger, etc.

Were the earrings themselves "special"? I mean, if they were given to you by your father when you were 3 or something and you lost one, that would be a big deal. I had a silver bracelet like that which I lost in the Ocean. . .

Some things just "surprise" us too. I was baking a cake which needed 8 eggs and I was cracking them, putting them into the bowl and the shells into the sink/disposal and go the order wrong and cracked an egg into the sink. I panicked, forgetting I had a dozen or more eggs so plenty of "extras" and tried to grab that one back :-) If you're going along accustomed to wearing those earrings most days and suddenly one's lost, that could cause a bit of "panic" but I take it you're not as upset now? So, no harm done. You cared about those earrings a whole lot. So what? That's you and fine.
