The problem isn't really a technical one, but one of where do we draw the line... If a member has a problem with a moderator (and being triggered by reading his or her posts), wouldn't it be possible for a member to also have a problem with an administrator too? Or someone has a problem with all 3 admins at the same time and ignores all of us?
So if I say, okay, we'll allow ignoring of moderators (which would make our job a little more difficult, since we rely on moderators to take care of most of the daily issues that arise), I'm sure I'll get a PM asking for that to be extended to admins. And then suddenly everyone has to play messenger to get messages from an ignored moderator or admin to a member, and vice-a-versa.
We need the community team here and for better or worse, they cannot be ignored at present. I'll certainly bring it up as a suggestion to be discussed further amongst the team to see and understand if we can find an implementation that wouldn't make everyone's jobs here more difficult. But it's not something that's going to change any time soon.
As for the community charging members, no, there is no charge for the community, there never has been one, and I can say with some degree of certainty that there never will be one. All we ask of our members is that they do remember that the community is a part of a larger information site about mental health, and to visit the site from time to time as they'd like. The site is supported by its advertisers as well, so occasionally recognizing that helps us too.
Thank you for your continued support,
DocJohn
