I'm betting the competition was going on long before it became about their kids.

Know it's hard but at this point in life they just have to figure it out themselves & we have to try our hardest to accept that their behaviors are their choice & leave it to them to resolve IF THEY WANT TO. That's harder to do than trying to fix but easier on us when we accept their choice
