I'm not a terrible cook, in fact I'm a really good cook, but my parents are excellent cooks and they think the bonding time is great and they enjoy me cooking for them. My dad is the best BBQer around and he promised me that this summer he'll help me carry on the tradition of a classic BBQ'd steak done right!

It might be a little odd for a father-daughter activity to be BBQing, but I am eager to learn the skills of a good BBQer and one day my meats will be just as good as Dad's, and my hope is that when I move out the first meal I'll share with them when I invite them over is a classic BBQ'd steak. I've been quite the proactive cook since last November where I dolled up the kitchen to look like a fancy Italian bistro and cooked an original alfredo dish for my parents anniversary, and now my mom is taking time to show me how to make her favorite recipes. She's been teaching me knife techniques, how ingredients react to create certain flavors, and how to pair foods with wine. I'm really enjoying myself and my parents are enjoying my interest in cooking. Yay!
