True. What we might be discussing in this thread are personal foundations based upon / created by societal mores, as one cannot have a "moral compass" without God, otherwise it constantly moves as society deems more things acceptable based upon people's attitudes.
I'd like to think, and as I read this thread, that these are truly non-moveable norms we expect in others.
