This works for me, but I'm not a doctor. Consult with your doctor before embarking on a diet. I like the flexibility of this plan...BMR goal weight calories. It's not a diet, per se, just a way I thought would work for me. It's best to ask your doctor what is a safe diet for you.
I haven't ever taken diet pills.

I also use this approach.

In addition, I supplement with L-Carnitine which helps the body to burn fat, instead of muscle. All approved by my doctor.
