I was on topamax for years at 200 rwice a day. It did effect the way food tastes and messed with my memory and speech after about 10 years. But I also had migraines seizures and then a head injury so I think that was the reason for the high dose. I went off once I had trouble writing. If someone gave me a phone number I would get stuck and not be able to remember how to make a four. It was never clear if that was a side effect or from the TBI.

All said it was a very tolerable medication.
