For those of you that have this condition, what is it like?

I think I have begun hearing voices at the age or 47 but I'm unsure...is it possible to have this begin at my age? It isn't really disturbing right now, but I'm afraid of it getting worse...does it get worse or does it stay the same over the years? I don't hear them all the time, but on a daily basis, at times throughout the day, and only when I'm alone. Is this normal?
