You are absolutely correct. My brother is a master at it. I also have the same sense of dry wit as he, except it apparently comes off as just anger. It caused many, many fights with my mother for a long time, and I felt like the inferior child (even though i was first born AND born at 24 weeks--because, duh, i am a damn miracle baby!--sarcasm).
Therefore, I will forever use emoji's and emphasization. (is that a word?)
