It's pretty well known that depressive episodes have a co-relation with doing basic tasks like showering.

Doesn't help that on top of that I have aquagenic pruritus (always) and I'm wondering if anyone on here also knows the feel.

---- Notes

Basically, 10 min into showering my arms and legs start itching - moderately. Then the worst -- on my legs, i get the sensation that I'm getting stung by a million bees -- severe. Its painful and uncomfortable and lasts between 30 min - 1h. Hard to stay sane during that time. It just becomes pavlov conditioning to develop a phobia towards water/showering.

Every time post-shower, I end up pacing back and forth, scratching, pinching and slapping myself, and having 2-3 glasses of wine to dull the feeling (which is not great when ur on meds). It's not easy, and I often go through long periods of time where I don't shower -- or only wash the top part of my body.

This affects me when I'm not at all depressed, and have the motivation to shower and the intent. But then there's this massive roadblock in the way - and it's hard to lead a normal life...
