I used to pick up people walking along side the roadways. Not everyone, but those I would get a vibe for... and driving a convertible, I always felt it would be pretty easy to escape if I ended up with a baddie...

One day as I was driving I passed by a guy carrying what appeared to be an empty gas can. I hadn't passed any broken down car though... and I passed right by him. But something (God?) said, go back and get him. Well, I turned the car around and drove past him the other way... and again was told to go pick him up.

I didn't like the idea of no broken down car on the road way, but considered that he may have walked from his home. Still, I drove past him, almost arguing with God. Nope, He wouldn't let it go and I had to go back. This time, after passing by him on the opposite side, I did a u turn in the road, and stopped beside him.

"You know I've passed by several times, but for some reason, I'm supposed to help you." I said to him, and he got into the car. I took him to the closest gas station, and gave him money to pay for it too. Afterwards, I began to drive back towards the way he'd been coming... and near where I picked him up he said to let him out. "Really? I can take you to your car." No, he said this would be fine. So I pulled over and let him out. As I checked traffic to the left of me and back,he exited the car. I was comtemplating pulling out onto the roadway, and then turned back to say goodbye to him... and he was no where to be found.
