Whether it's welfare or not is irrelevant. Why do they want to cut programs that help people?
And er, I get welfare (SNAP and medicaid), we darn well do pay taxes. Most people on welfare programs DO pay taxes.
ETA: My mom pays more taxes than most (she's on SNAP) because she has to pay self employment taxes.
