I hope you are safe right now.

I understand completely how you feel about your soon to be husband attending a group. In my experience, most professionals are exactly that: professionals. I don't believe they will be making fun of you or those who suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder. The goal of the group is to spread awareness and strengthen ties with loved ones, not take away from it.

I once was anxious about this very thing (only it was in relation to my parents attending a group about borderline PD). The response from my psychiatrist at the time was "at least you're parents are willing to go."

One can say the same for your soon to be husband. It is a good thing that he might be willing to go to a meeting. Sometimes family members cannot hear us when we try to help them understand our illness. It goes without saying that they will be more receptive to learning from a third party or a, "professional."

Try to rest. Be gentle with yourself. Don't overthink things.

Thanks,
