SSDI is for people who become disabled before retirement age. SSI is for people who become disabled before working age or before they're able to do a substantial amount of work. As someone on SSI I feel that I get judged more so than people on SSDI because I didn't pay into it. Society seems to have the view that you can control when your illness strikes or if it does at all. I can't say too much more without going into politics which is against guidelines but I really hope this doesn't happen and it was one of my biggest fears during the election.

I also receive SNAP but I need it, and I probably still would need it even if I got a job.
