I'm sorry that the no meds option didn't work out. But at least you recognized that, and went back on the meds before getting into a serious downward spiral. If you're feeling bad about needing meds - don't. It took me a long time to accept but I've now accepted the fact that I'll probably need psych meds for life. It doesn't make us bad people, it just means that we have treatable illnesses that require medication.
