I admit that I do love the smell of a new baseball, or the musty smell of leather off of a baseball mitt. I also enjoy hearing the crack of a bat as it hits the ball and it flies off toward the outfield. I must state that I don't play baseball or am remotely athletic, but my dad used to play softball for his company's softball team back in the day and we had mitts and softballs laying around the house. Yes, I would smell softballs and mitts from time to time. I was a very odd child.

With that said, I can somewhat enjoy watching baseball too. Stats I'm not to well versed in, so they don't hold much meaning to me. I do know more in the way of baseball terminology. Triples, doubles and homeruns are pretty simple to understand. I can watch a game on TV and follow it, and even enjoy it.

I watched last years World Series and was cheering for the Cubs. I'm glad they finally overcame their curse and won. I was on the edge of my seat as the game was tied at the end of the 9th, and went into a tenth inning. When the Cubs finally won, I cheered, albeit softly, as it was way late and people were trying to sleep in my house.

My favorite teams are the Minnesota Twins, as I'm from Minnesota, and the Boston Red Sox.
