Yes. When my former psychiatrist tried what she called therapy, it felt like nothing so much as being beaten around the head and shoulders with a brick in a sock.

Some are good at it. But generally I don't think the MD mindset is conducive to giving therapy.

Eta: I suppose dry senses of humor tend to require a sense of the ridiculous as well, of not taking yourself too seriously.
