It really does sound like you have: "Major depressive disorder (MDD), defined as a mental disorder characterized by at least two weeks of low mood that is present across most situations. It is often accompanied by low self-esteem, loss of interest in normally enjoyable activities, low energy, and pain without a clear cause." When you have it, the best cure is a friend that really cares yet it is harder to make friends when you have it -- a classic Catch 22 situation. Seeing if a T can help you first is a good idea but since that hasn't worked, it may be time to consider (if you haven't yet) speaking to a psychologist so you can see if meds help. Exercise also helps but may not be enough. Depression feels terrible, I hope you can emerge from it soon!
