My question is the following :
Why do doctors wean off patients knowing that they will suffer withdrawals?

If they do wean one off, they should inform you about the withdrawal potential and prescribe something in the same medicinal family, but in a lesser strength so that nobody has to suffer those awful withdrawals.

It can become a life-threatening situation,
I believe.
