I think people would be shocked to realize how much guess work is involved in all forms of medicine. My family has had so many potentially deadly misdiagnosis made over the years. Psychiatry really is an art as much as it is a science and doctors are just regular people like everyone else. If people are good at anything, they are good and experienced at making mistakes. Just because someone has a PHD, doesn't mean they can't make a mistake. some people are very simplistic and just follow what they are told. That's fine if it works for them but they shouldn't expect others to do the same.
