When a woman points to a man with a bent finger, which looks like weak erection and repeats something about potential problems, with the stress on "potential" - can this be treated as 'coincidence' or a neutral statement at all?

Then when she uses such expressions as "it's been going up so slowly" (with reference to database creation), or "you could not put it on" (with reference to creation of a report) - how should one respond?

Let's add that she is a former psychiatrist ward worker.
