Therapy is good for helping you cope with everyday stressors. That might not seem like much, but a therapist can teach you how to handle your anxiety such that you don't have to pop a klonopin every time you get major anxiety. That doesn't mean you don't need klonopin AT ALL, but it means that you can teach yourself techniques in case you don't have any klonopin on you or to limit your amount of klonopin consumption.

A therapist can also help you cope with mood episodes. For example, some people self harm as a result of depression or mixed states, and therapy help you build techniques and stuff to avoid harming yourself.

If you have severe depression, a therapist gives you someone to talk to. If you need everyday advice, a therapist gives you someone to talk to. If you have a crisis, a therapist gives you someone to talk to.

Those are just a small handful of examples.
