Do not doubt yourself.

Everyone can benefit from therapy. If it feels overwhelming to you the therapist will help it be not so overwhelming. Whether it's "typical teen problems" or not, how you feel is how you feel. If you want help and guidance with your problem I think that's wonderful. Not all teens will get the help you will to face issues and work through things such as depression. And yes, the hair pulling is a potential problem that should be worked on.

There is no criteria you have to meet to be in therapy. It's an open door for anyone who feels they need a little guidance in their life. You can use it however you like - to vent about school, parents, life. Or you can set goals to work on (like the hair pulling, depression, etc).
