2 things I do when I am in crisis mode - well, 3.
first, I realize I am in crisis
2nd, I stop, take a deep breath and clear my thoughts for 5 mins - not allowed to think about the crisis issue for 5 mins.
3rd - I figure out the very best outcome and the very worst outcome. Then I ask myself if I can handle either the best or the worst outcome. If the answer is yes to both, I know I can handle anything in between the best and worst. If the answer is no, I talk to someone - T, friend, Psychcentral post - get help. I don't have to go through a crisis alone.
So, that's what I try and do when a crisis hits.
