My manager will work with me as far as roughly scheduling a window of time that best works for me for maintenance to enter. For example, if I get notification that maintenance will be coming in 'Thursday', I can tell my manager that the ideal time for me would be between 2 and 4p.m. on Thursday and she will tell maintenance to knock on my door during that time only.

Ya, I was given a 24 hour heads up, however, I was NOT given a timeframe at all. The reason for the maintenance was pest control which is fine and all but the stuff these people use never does anything. I handle pest control on my own and the difference between my way of doing it and theirs is negligible at best. Because of this, I see no real need to deal with these people especially since the last guy was rude and clearly didn't care about my feelings or what I wanted at all.
There is this handyman guy that works here who isn't with the maintenance people but actually does pest control right. I had a talk with him today and he is going to bring me some professional grade sprays and help me out later. He even admitted that he thinks that these maintenance people should not be handling the pest control because they are notorious for spraying stuff that stinks up people's apartments and coming and going as they please and I'm not the only one who lives here that is tired of this.
