Is this the same person that you were worried about being bullied in the other thread?
I'm sorry you are exposed to these stressful situations. I totally understand how the instability at work can really stress you out and make you absolutely neurotic and nervous.
FYI, I was recently in a similar situation where our CFO was not reconciling the books and allowed our organization to get $800,000 into deficit on our budget. This was back in February. He was not let go, but he finally gave his two weeks, two weeks ago. I wonder if they agreed he would stay on until our "season" ends and then would leave. I can see how they couldn't just fire him in the middle of everything because they needed to quickly address the budget shortfalls. But I felt a little bit of redemption that he resigned. He was impossible to work with. He had no idea how to do reports and I would give him budget forms to complete for grant projects, and he would always return them filled out incorrectly (like how hard is it to follow instructions?) and at the last minute so I had to make corrections and hope I wasn't screwing it up too badly, since I'm not in Finance.
So hopefully this person who treated your friend badly will get his karmic retribution. It will happen eventually.
