Yes, my pets are a comfort to me, and a lot of company.

I am feeling my mother's absence particularly right now, maybe because of the Christmas season. I find myself thinking how I should call her, etc. For the most part, though, I am glad to have had the time with her and we finally shared some loving thoughts for each other.
