The vet at the uni vet hospital called with the results of Ciara's autopsy. She had fibrous tissue growing around most of her internal organs, choking them off. He said this is very rare in cats. The last case they saw was in 1994. Bottom line is that there was no hope for her. Knowing the cause doesn't ease the pain, but at least my friend knows that there was nothing more to do for her. The hospital is running further tests to determine what caused the tissue to begin growing in the first place.
